Yeteref Bet Pharmaceutical Importing PLC is a fast-growing company in Ethiopia’s healthcare supply chain, committed to bridging access gaps in essential medicines and consumables. With a strategic plan to expand imports, establish local manufacturing, and strengthen wholesaler operations, financial accountability and efficiency are critical to sustaining growth and ensuring compliance with EFDA and Ethiopian labor law.

The Junior Accountant & Finance Officer will play a key role in supporting the finance department, ensuring accurate reporting, cost efficiency, and compliance with both internal policies and external regulatory requirements.

 

Position: Junior Accountant & Finance Officer

Objectives of the Position

  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Support cost efficiency and margin optimization in line with company KPIs.
  • Strengthen internal controls and compliance with Ethiopian tax and labor laws.
  • Contribute to financial sustainability and profitability targets outlined in the strategic plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record daily financial transactions (sales, purchases, payroll, expenses).
  • Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements.
  • Support budget preparation and variance analysis.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and payable.
  • Assist in tender and contract financial documentation (EPSA, NGOs, private sector).
  • Ensure compliance with EFDA, tax authority, and labor law requirements.
  • Support annual HR and finance audits.
  • Contribute to KPI tracking:
    • Finance KPIs: Accuracy ≥ 98%, reporting timeliness, cost efficiency.
    • Sales KPIs: Support monitoring of sales growth (≥ 15% quarterly).
About You

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience (internship or entry-level acceptable).
  • Knowledge of Ethiopian tax and labor law.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical import systems preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
