Meklit Microfinance Institution S.C. is one of the pioneer MFIs in Ethiopia established on February 2000 by the virtue of proclamation No. 40/96 and licensed by the National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE) with paid up capital of ETB 200,000, of which ETB 191,000 was paid by a local NGO called Progynist which works on women empowerment. The remaining balance was paid by nine individuals, of whom 3 were women. The initial and primary goal of the Institution was to elevate the livelihood of rural women and youth through providing need-based and affordable financial services thereby enhancing access to finance to these groups of the community, who are economically productive but by and large neglected by the conventional banks.

- Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and governance standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity and ethical standards.
- Strong report writing and communication skills.
