Vision Fund: Micro Finance Institution (S.C) is an Institution established according to proclamation No. 40/96 to provide financial services to the productive poor in the rural and urban areas of Ethiopia. Vision Fund is currently operating in seven of the Regional States of the country. Vision Fund MFI is currently looking candidates to fill the vacant positions for batch recruitment for Junior Customer Service Officer Role. The successful candidates will have skills and experience that meet the following requirements:
Position 1: Junior Customer Service Officer
Major Duties and Responsibilities are:
Promotion & Marketing:
- Assists in conducting market research and survey activities;
- Solicits new loan accounts in accordance with specific periodic performance targets prescribed in the branch business plan;
- Conducts active marketing campaign to attract new clients;
- Orients prospective clients about VISIONFUND MFI products;
- Assists the branch manager in preparing annual plans and budget carries out focus group discussion (FGD) with clients.
Manage loan & saving process:
- Receives loan applications and perform credit appraisal on loan applicants and his/her surety/ guarantor, if any;
- Conducts inspection and/or appraisal of any property being offered as collateral;
- Prepares and presents credit applications to the branch credit committee for approval and arrange venue for loan;
- Prepares schedules and disburses loans and collects repayments
- Daily handover all collected cash to the teller/cashier
- Assess client history & performance to recommend for repeat loan
- Member of loan committee
- Submits periodic reports and statistical data to the branch manager
- Handles the minimum number of clients set for the position
- Receives loan applications and perform credit appraisal on loan applicants and his/her surety/ guarantor, if any;
- Conducts inspection and/or appraisal of any property being offered as collateral;
- Prepares and presents credit applications to the branch credit committee for approval and arrange venue for loan committee.
- Submits periodic reports and statistical data to the branch manager.
- Handles the minimum number of clients set for the position.
Manages portfolio quality:
- Closely monitors loan payments and ensures zero tolerance against past due;
- Effectively negotiates with clients in arrears
- Undertakes timely follow up and analysis of past due loans and proper documentation.
- Assists other loan officers in managing delinquency crisis.
- Conduct regular visit to clients at their business sites before, during and after disbursement and build strong relations with them.
Others:
- And any other duties that may be assigned by the Branch manager from time totime
- Acts as an alternate to any Credit Officer who is absent or who is on-leave.
Qualifications: Knowledge and Technical Skills:
- The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
- At least 10+2, 10+3, TVET Level 2, TVET Level 3, TVET Level 4, or Diploma/Degree in Economics, Management, Marketing, Public Administration, Rural Development, Cooperative, Agricultural Economics or related fields study
- At least one year of work experience.

Position 2: Branch Manager ’D/ West Regional Operation Offices/
Major Responsibilities Manages overall portfolio growth and portfolio quality
- Ensures verification of existence of clients and credit worthiness of their business
- Chairs the Branch Credit Committee (BCC) and participates in evaluating, approving, or rejecting loans according to the level of discretion;
- Ensure saving deposit and withdrawals in accordance to the policies,
- Coordinates on growth areas and projections for disbursements
Manages, coordinates and supervise branch staff and ensures efficient delivery of service delivery operations
- Coordinate and supervise the operation of the branch,
- Plans personnel capacity, selecting new staff, undertakes fair & equitable HRM and evaluating existing staff in accordance with management decisions;
- Supervises economical use of material resources (Generator, Motorcycles & Vehicles) ensures same are serviced on time & as scheduled.
- Ensures that the branch staff maintain very high morale, identifies capacity building needs and ensures adequate and updated training is provided;
- Undertakes annual performance appraisals and staff development plans.
Manages the branch and ensures compliance with all policies and procedures
- Implements policies, procedures and internal controls at the branch
- Decides on all operational & financial issues within the framework of existing regulations and management decisions;
Reporting and communication
- Performs independent balancing of all records;
- Works with other management members of the MFI;
Attends quarterly branch manages meetings, engages in team problem solving, works together on overlapping tasks.
Planning & Integration
- Develops the branch business plan and annual work plans and seeks approval from the
- SMT on the projected targets and required resources;
- Adjusts the plan as and when needed
Marketing
- Promotes loans, saving and any other services provided by the Branch
- Plans and initiates promotional measures within the target markets of the branch;
Qualification and Technical Skill Required
- University Degree/Diploma in Economics, Accounting, Business administration, Management, Banking, Marketing, Cooperative, Agricultural economics, or related social sciences and business fields;
- Related experience of 4 years for Degree and 6 years for Diploma
- Determined personality with initiative, perseverance and the ability to motivate and manage a team
- Capability and willingness to take responsibility and highly developed sense of rectitude
- Ready to comply and live up to and in accordance with the organization Ideals and Core Values
- Computer skill/ Be proficient in Microsoft office applications
- Able to plan and manage finances, including a basic understanding of accounting.
