The UN Conference on Trade and Development is an intergovernmental entity within the United Nations Secretariat that advocates for the interests of developing nations in the management of international trade, financial transactions, and technology transfer.
We assist developing countries in accessing the advantages of a globalized economy in a more equitable and efficient manner. Additionally, we prepare them to address the possible challenges associated with increased economic integration. To achieve this, we deliver analysis, promote consensus-building, and provide technical support. This enables them to leverage trade, investment, finance, and technology as instruments for inclusive and sustainable development.
Position: Public Information Intern
Qualifications/special skills:
Applicants to the programme must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:
(a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or,
(b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent). Moreover, interns should:
• Should be computer literate in standard software applications;
• Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and
• Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which includes willingness to understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
For this position, the university degree must be in the area of journalism, international relations, public administration or related area.
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme.
