Safaricom Telecommunications Ethiopia P.L.C., previously known as Global Partnership for Ethiopia BV, is a subsidiary of the Kenyan mobile operator Safaricom in Ethiopia, licensed with fee of US$850 million on 9 July 2021. This fee made it the single largest foreign direct investment into Ethiopia.
Safaricom Ethiopia is looking for a qualified person who meets the criteria indicated below.

Position 1: Senior Cyber Security Architect
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering/computer science/information technology or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, post degree qualification
- Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in information security/cybersecurity, with at least 3 years in a telecom environment.
- One or more these industry Cybersecurity Certifications: CISM, Azure Security Engineer, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, CISA, CISSP-ISSEP, CISSP-ISSAP, CCNA, NSE-4, NSE-6
- Experience and proficiency with the following:
- Network security
- End point security
- Cloud security and securing hybrid environments
- Experience with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and COBIT.
- Knowledge of basic system administration and operating system hardening techniques
Desired
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, CCNP-Security, CCIE security, NSE4, NSE6 preferred.

Must have technical / professional qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related field
- At least 2 years’ experience as a full-stack developer with in-depth understanding of both web and mobile technology stacks
- Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript libraries and frameworks (ReactJS and NextJS).
- Experience in developing hybrid mobile applications using PWA and bridge scripts.
- Experience with REST API integration
- Proficient understanding of version control (Git) and DevOps

- Ability to quickly absorb technical concepts and communicate them to a non-technical audience

Position 4: Specialist Digital Channels Development and Operations (Contract)
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
- Degree in Information Systems and Technology, Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication Engineering, IT Computer Science or a closely related numerate discipline.
- Above 3 years’ experience in a busy I.T or Telecommunications environment –Involved in Strategy Modeling, Planning, Design, Implementation, Optimization and Support of Datacenter and Campus Networks environment.
- In-depth understanding of Arista Datacenter Networks environments is an added advantage.
- Router, Switches and NG firewall configuration and troubleshooting skills (Cisco, FortiGate, Checkpoint and Huawei)
- Load balancer configuration and troubleshooting skills (F5, Radware and Citrix)
- Mastery of IPsec Configuration and Troubleshooting Skills
- Network design and implementation experience, including working knowledge of IP addressing, TCP/IP Protocols, LAN, and WAN configurations.
- Knowledge in Telephony systems for Voice and Video Communications.
- CCNA or HCNA Network Certifications in any line (RS, Security, Wireless, Voice) is desirable

Position 5: Specialist- Business Intelligence Development and Operation (Contract)
Qualifications and experience:
- BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field
- Proven experience as a Power BI specialist.
- Industry experience is preferred.
- Background in data warehouse design (e.g., dimensional modelling) and data mining
- In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework.
- Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, SSAS)
- Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative.

- 5–8 years of experience in commercial performance management, business planning, CVM, pricing, or data analytics, preferably within telecommunications.
- Technical Skills
Proficiency in data analytics tools and technologies such as SQL, Power BI, or similar platforms.
Strong experience with data warehousing and ETL processes.
Strong database querying skills.
Proven track record of translating data into business strategies and actionable insights.
Strong understanding of key telecom metrics (e.g., ARPU, churn rate, customer segmentation).

• Strong ability to interpret performance data and convert it into commercial actions and decisions.
• Strong understanding of telecom commercial KPIs (ARPU, churn, acquisition cost, retention, usage).
