Position 1: Construction Engineer (Material Management Focused)
We are seeking a logistics-minded and highly organized Construction Engineer specializing in Materials Management to oversee the complete lifecycle of project materials. In this role, you will be the vital link between engineering, procurement, supply chain logistics, and project installation.
Your primary objective is to ensure that the correct materials, equipment, and resources are requested, supplied, received, safely, and efficiently utilized in a manner of minimum wastage, on schedule, and cost effective.
Key Responsibilities
- Document Control & Administration
- Manage, log, and track all project material requests
- Manage change orders coming through design modifications.
- Receive, review and manage production orders.
- Manage production (mainly rebar) to deliver on time, with optimum utilization.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date design drawings, project logs, and official correspondence.
- Distribute revised drawings, specifications, and project updates to field crews and subcontractors.
Cost Estimation & Quantity Surveying
- Perform accurate quantity take-offs from structural and architectural drawings.
- Assist in preparing monthly progress payment requisitions and verifying subcontractor invoices against actual field progress.
- Evaluate and process change order pricing and claims.
Scheduling & Progress Tracking
- Collaborate with Project Managers to receive, update, and maintain critical work items.
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly work progress and deliver detailed reports to proactively identify potential delays or bottlenecks.
- Assist in preparing monthly progress payment requisitions and verifying subcontractor invoices against actual field progress.
- Evaluate and process change order pricing and claims.
Quality Control & Compliance
- Review material requested and shop drawings to ensure absolute compliance with design drawings.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure materials are delivered to the site according to the project timeline.
- Assist in the close-out process, including stock balance, and leading procurement reconciliations
Qualification
- MSc/BSc in civil engineering or construction management or related field of Study
Experience
- 4-6 years related experience on construction project operations.
- Real Estate experience is advantageous
Particular Exposure
- Proven track record working on multi-story commercial building projects in the capacity of a Construction Engineer with a dedicated focus on materials management.
Technical Skill
- Strong competency in reading drawings and utilizing CAD software.
- Proficiency in project scheduling software and solid project management knowledge.
- Meticulous attention to detail with an analytical approach to tracking inventory and production metrics (especially rebar optimization).
Soft skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with a problem-solving mindset capable of resolving discrepancies between design intent and material supply.
- Resilient and adaptable, with the proven capacity to work efficiently under hardship or high-pressure site environments.
Position 2: Receptionist / Front Desk Officer
Key responsibilities
- Greets warmly and assist visitors, clients and customers upon arrival
- Receives and assist guests to the officer courteously and replies to queries by providing information while being as prudent as possible
- Answer phones from prospective customer and guest, taking messages and delivering same to concerns
- Responds to all guests or visitors’ questions and requests by forwarding phone calls to concerned person
- Handle client complies in consolation or connecting them with concerned managers as urgently as possible
- Assists visitors to leave message where the employee desires isn’t around and ensure that messages are received
- Manage and route incoming calls to the appropriate personnel
- Effectively communicates information to guest and internal staff
- Handles inquire and provide information about the organization’s service
- Ensures proper sign-in procedures for visitors and issue victors’ badges
- Direct victors to the relevant person or département
- Provides excellent customer service, addressing inquires and concern
- Maintain a professional and friendly manner at all times
- Maintains accurate and Up To Date record of visitors logs calls and appointments
- Contribute to the organizational and maintenance of officer filling system
- Organize the document at the reception are regularly displays relevant and useful information for the attention of guests and visitors
- Makes appointment for staff and reminding them of approaching appointments
- Ensure urgent message are followed up accordingly by the staff member concerned
- Makes official phone calls on behalf of executive members and senior managers
- Maintains an attractive, pleasant neat front desk area
- Update staff contacts sheet on any changers as requires
- Assist with administrative and clerical tasks as needed
- Report any telephone faults to the IT officers or Ethio- telecom for immediate maintenance
- Prepare periodic reports and submitted to immediate supervisor
- Perform other similar activities as signed by her/his immediate Supervisor
- Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, or a related field of study
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in reception, customer service, or administrative support roles.
