Reach The Needy – Ethiopia (RTN-Ethiopia) is a child-focused, community-based, non-profit, non-religious, and discrimination-free humanitarian organization. RTN-Ethiopia works to empower deprived, excluded, and vulnerable children to become productive, confident, and responsible citizens and future leaders. The organization partners with ChildFund, PLAN Ethiopia, UNICEF, and CARE Ethiopia to implement various development and humanitarian programs across the country.

RTN-Ethiopia has recently secured a grant from UNICEF to implement an “Integrated Nutrition & Early Childhood Education (ECE)” project in selected Woredas of the Sidama Region (Aleta Chuko) and South Ethiopia Region (Duguna-Fango & Dassenech).

We are inviting qualified candidates to join our team in Dilla town, Gedeo Zone, SNNPR for the following positions:


1. Cashier

Number of Positions: 1
Employment Type: Full-time, 1-year contract (renewable based on performance and fund availability)
Location: Dilla, RTN Coordination Office

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage cash and document handling in compliance with RTN’s financial policies.
  • Process payments, petty cash, advances, vendor payments, and bank deposits.
  • Prepare receipts, vouchers, and cash replenishment requests.
  • Assist Accountant and Finance & Admin Head in audit facilitation.
  • Ensure proper documentation for financial reporting and internal controls.
  • Report cash shortages, overages, or unpaid vouchers timely.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • BA in Accounting or Finance from a recognized college/university.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience (NGO experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, and other computer applications.
  • Good communication skills in English and Amharic; knowledge of local languages is a plus.

2. Accountant

Number of Positions: 1
Employment Type: Contract, 1-year (renewable based on performance and fund availability)
Location: Dilla, RTN Coordination Office

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure project expenditures comply with approved budgets, donor guidelines, and organizational policies.
  • Process financial vouchers, invoices, receipts, and payment requests.
  • Supervise Cashier and manage petty cash.
  • Maintain accurate stock records and reconcile with bin cards.
  • Reconcile books of accounts with bank statements and prepare monthly payroll.
  • Ensure proper tax deductions and timely remittance to authorities.
  • Participate in budget preparation and strategic planning.
  • Record and report all financial transactions for project and organizational compliance.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • BA in Accounting, Accounting & Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in financial management, preferably in NGOs.
  • Proficient in financial software, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of IPSAS, GAAP, donor grant regulations, and Early Childhood Care & Development programs.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Amharic; knowledge of local languages is advantageous.
