Frontieri Consult Vacancy 2025 – Software Engineer Intern (Fresh Graduates)

Frontieri Consult PLC is a leading research and consultancy firm in Ethiopia with over a decade of experience. The company has successfully delivered 200+ research and consultancy assignments, including baseline surveys, impact assessments, mid-term and end-line evaluations across multiple sectors. Frontieri works with international NGOs, multilateral organizations, and government institutions to support national development efforts.

The organization is now inviting fresh and motivated graduates to join its growing technology and research team.

Position: Software Engineer Intern

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related fields
• Strong understanding of software development principles and version control tools (e.g., Git)
• Proficiency in at least one programming language
  • Preferred: Python or JavaScript/Node.js
• Familiarity with modern development technologies such as:
  • Node.js/Express
  • React.js
  • Tailwind CSS
  • Laravel
• Basic knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and general data management
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
• Ability to work in a team and follow professional software development workflows
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Highly motivated, eager to learn, and passionate about real-world software development

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain software applications, internal tools, dashboards, APIs, and database-driven systems
• Independently contribute to small modules or projects while delivering high-quality, maintainable code
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize existing systems for improved performance
• Participate in planning sessions, code reviews, and collaborative technical discussions
• Prepare clear technical documentation, including system workflows and feature explanations
• Work with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL systems like MongoDB
• Support system integration tasks and API-related development
• Share knowledge and provide guidance to other interns when needed
• Explore and suggest new tools, technologies, and best practices
