About the Organization
The Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Institute (ATI), formerly known as the Agricultural Transformation Agency (ATA), is a government institute dedicated to accelerating the growth and transformation of Ethiopia’s agriculture sector. ATI works to improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers by conducting policy studies, providing technical support, coordinating platforms, and leading innovative pilot interventions. ATI collaborates with national and international partners to strengthen evidence-based decision-making and agricultural development programs.
Available Job Position
Senior HR and Admin Officer
- Employment Type: Full-time (One-year contract with possibility of extension)
- Career Level: Senior (5–8 years)
- Duty Stations: Hawassa (1 position) and Oromia (1 position, based in Addis Ababa)
- Key Responsibilities / Job Duties:
HR – Recruitment & Selection- Develop short- and medium-term HR plans in consultation with regional directors
- Implement recruitment and selection processes, including interviews and assessments
- Maintain candidate databases and talent pools
- Prepare contracts, onboarding materials, and manage staff records
- Ensure compliance with ATI HR policies and procedures
HR – Learning & Development
- Facilitate performance management and evaluations
- Provide coaching and training support for regional staff
- Calibrate performance results and report to HQ HR office
HR – Staff Relations
- Manage staff medical insurance and leave records
- Address complaints and disciplinary issues in line with ATI guidelines
Administration
- Oversee cleaners, security guards, and coffee attendants
- Manage office facilities, utilities, and service contracts
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards
- Maintain filing systems and support office relocations
- Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration, HR Management, or related fields
- Minimum of 4 years’ HR/Admin experience with a Master’s degree, or 6 years with a Bachelor’s degree
- Experience with international organizations preferred
- Strong HR management and administrative skills
- Excellent communication skills in English and Amharic; knowledge of local languages is an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
- Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments
