Empowerment for Development (ED) is a national NGO committed to promote and improve the lives of vulnerable communities including women, children, IDPs and migrants through its multiple thematic areas such as Livelihoods and Economic Empowerment, Humanitarian Emergency and Climate Change, Education and Youth Development, Community Health and Protection of Vulnerable Populations, Peacebuilding and Social Cohesion.

Position 1: Program Officer (Intern)

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as sociology, management, development studies, or social work.
  • Assist in monitoring project activities and tracking progress against established work plans.
  • Foundational knowledge of the project cycle management process.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Passion for the mission of the organization and commitment to making a positive impact in the community.

Language

  • English fluency (written and verbal) is required.
  • Knowledge of Afar af is an added value.

Position 2: Business Development Officer (Intern)

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in for a bachelor’s or degree in business administration, sociology, management, marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create persuasive and impactful materials is highly mandatory
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in using social media platforms and other communication technologies.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Passion for the mission of the organization and commitment to making a positive impact in the community.

Position 3: Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Officer

Qualifications:

  • At least two years of proven experience in implementing MEAL systems for humanitarian or development projects in the NGO/non-profit sector.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis methods.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
