DEC is a local CSO established in 2007 and re-registered in May 2019 as per the new Authority for CSO Proclamation by the Ethiopian government bearing a registration number of 0009. The organization has five major programs; Child Well-being and Education Development Program, Gender and Life Skill Development, Employable Skills Development Program, Advocacy, and Humanitarian Emergency Program. DEC actively works in six National Regional States and one city administration of Ethiopia namely Amhara, Afar, Oromia, Tigray, Gambela, Benishangul Gumuz, and Addis Ababa City Administration.

Position 1: Junior Finance Officer
Job Summary
The Junior Finance Officer will manage the project’s financial transactions, facilitate timely payments, handle payroll, and support audit processes, ensuring compliance with financial policies and accurate documentation. The role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to maintain transparent financial records while providing reliable support to the project’s overall financial management.

Role and Responsibilities
- Prepare and reconcile general bank statements.
- Ensure transactions are properly recorded and entered into the computerized accounting system.
- Prepare income statements and balance sheets.
- Provide technical support to outside auditors.
- Prepares payroll and reviews the tabulation, monitoring, and distribution of payroll costs to appropriate general ledger accounts.
- Maintain financial files and records &oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Issue, code, and authorize purchase orders.
- Reconciles the accounts payable, the accounts receivable, and weekly deposits.
- Manage distribution of utility bills and collections of accounts.
- Handles settlement of advances made to partners and prepares reimbursement requests, documents/ correspondence, and expenditure reports.
- Monitors grant-related expenditures and ledgers; prepares annual expenditure reports.

Position 2: Woreda Program Supervisor
Job Summary
The Woreda Program supervisors are responsible for District/Woreda level implementation; provides school‑level support for the program, overseeing an average of 20 schools and 42 classes within their assigned woreda.
Specific role and responsibilities
- Responsible for guiding teachers, monitoring classroom delivery, ensuring adherence to project standards,
- Facilitate communication between schools, communities, and zonal coordinators.
- Regular supervision, facilitation visits, data collection, and reporting to strengthen teaching quality and student learning outcomes,
- Support effective coordination of resources and stakeholder engagement at the local level.
- Work closely with school directors, Woreda education offices, teachers, Parent-Teacher Student Associations (PTSAs), and community leaders to ensure the success of educational initiatives.
- Organize activities for teachers, facilitators, and local partners to enhance educational practices.

Position 3: Program Coordinator
Job Summary
The Project Zonal Coordinator will oversee project implementation across two woredas within their assigned zone (Jimma or Southwest Shewa), ensuring effective planning, monitoring, and reporting of activities.
Specific Role and Responsibilities
- Coordinate with education offices and stakeholders,
- Support woreda staff and facilitators, and maintain strong communication and documentation of outcomes;
- Responsible for stakeholder engagement, budget compliance, and timely reporting to the project manager
- Addressing challenges and providing solutions to improve educational outcomes.
- Collaborating with other stakeholders such as local government, NGOs, and educational institutions.
- Systematically coordinate the documentation of project inputs, outputs, results, and impacts of the program or project
- Reporting on progress and making recommendations for improvement.
Educational background and experience
- MA/ BA/BED in Education and related field with 2 years of NGO work experience

Position 4: Finance Coordinator
Job Summary
The Finance Coordinator is accountable for maintaining day-to-day financial and accounting operations to keep financial settlements up to date in compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Specific Roles and Responsibilities
- Participates in budget preparations and ensures that approved program and budget plans are formally issued to departments and projects
- Ensures that all financial & budgetary documents are filled and maintained according to the organization’s accounting & budgetary policies and as revised.
- Makes support visits to projects and partners.
- Performs internal audits of accounts payable, payroll distribution, fixed assets, etc;
- Reviews and recommends modifications to accounting systems and procedures.

The committed MEAL Officer to support monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning activities at the field level. The role involves collecting and analyzing data, conducting field monitoring, ensuring quality reporting, strengthening community feedback mechanisms, and supporting evidence-based decision-making.
Key Roles and Responsibilities

Job Summary
Provides technical leadership on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) programming, ensuring quality implementation, capacity strengthening, integration of best practices, technical guidance, and adherence to relevant standards and guidelines.
Specific Role and Responsibility
- Provide technical leadership and oversight for the design, implementation, monitoring, and quality assurance of SRHR and GBV interventions.
