CorpsAfrica is a nonprofit organization based in the United States that empowers young African graduates to spearhead community-driven development in underserved regions while acquiring valuable skills and experience. CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia is currently seeking enthusiastic Ethiopian graduates for Group 4. Engage in rural communities, foster significant change, and become an agent of transformation!
CorpsAfrica Volunteers participate in six weeks of Pre-Service Training and subsequently serve for ten months in a community selected based on its perceived needs, the presence of local partners, essential infrastructure, location, and other relevant criteria. The Volunteer commits to living and working alongside local residents to identify community concerns, collaboratively develop and design solutions to address these issues, implement the solutions with local partners, and monitor and assess the outcomes.

We are looking for young leaders who:
- Age – 21 or older at the start of service.
- Hold a University Degree/ equivalent professional experience
- Are ready and able, physically and emotionally, to serve One Year in rural Ethiopia
- Are passionate about community service and social impact
- Female youth are highly encouraged to apply
General Expectations of a CorpsAfrica Volunteer
- Commit to working in a highly underserved community in Ethiopia to improve the quality of life of the community
- Recognize that their success is based on building trust and confidence with their host community
- Engage with host community partners in a spirit of cooperation, mutual learning, and respect
- Exercise good judgment and take personal responsibility to protect your health, safety, and overall well-being.
- Recognize and respect the people, cultures, values, and traditions of the community you serve and your fellow Volunteers.
CorpsAfrica Volunteers Receive the Following Before and During Service:
- Expert pre-service and in-service training facilitated by development and management professionals
- A living allowance adequate to support the Volunteer in his/her site
- Health insurance
- Travel funds for official CorpsAfrica business
- An end-of-service readjustment allowance
- Certificate of completion
- After completing service, option to apply to serve a second year in a different country and admission to the CorpsAfrica Alumni Association
- A life-changing experience which will serve you well throughout your personal and professional life
