The United Insurance Company SC, better known as UNIC-ETHIOPIA, was established by 87 Ethiopians (individuals and enterprises) in November 1994 with an authorized capital of Br 25 million and an initial paid up capital of Br 8.073 million.

Hibret Insurance Company was founded in November 1994 by 87 visionary Ethiopian individuals and enterprises, with an initial paid-up capital of 8 million Birr and an authorized capital of 25 million Birr. The company’s establishment marked a new era for Ethiopia’s insurance sector, focusing on providing reliable non-life insurance services. In 1997, Hibret became the first private-sector insurer in Ethiopia to offer life insurance and introduced the With Profits Individual Life Policy. In October 2000, Hibret expanded by acquiring Lion Insurance, strengthening its position in the market. As of June 2024, Hibret’s paid-up capital has grown to 1.067 billion Birr, with plans to reach 1.5 billion Birr by 2027, reflecting its growth and leadership in Ethiopia’s insurance industry.

Position 1: Manager – Legal Service

• Education: LLB/LLM
• Experience: 8 years post‑qualification; 2 years as Principal Attorney/Section Head/Legal Head OR 4 years in supervisor/senior role; 4 years in insurance
• Skills: Communication, interpersonal, analytical, insurance law knowledge, team leadership, English proficiency, computer skills
• Salary: Negotiable

Position 2: Head – Legal Service

• Education: LLB
• Experience: 6 years post‑qualification; 2 years in supervisor/senior role; 3 years in insurance
• Skills: Communication, interpersonal, analytical, insurance law knowledge, team building, English proficiency, computer skills
• Salary: Negotiable
• Location: Addis Ababa

Position 3: Supervisor – Legal Service

• Education: LLB
• Experience: 5 years post‑qualification; 2 years in insurance
• Skills: Communication, personality, English proficiency, computer skills
• Salary: As per company scale
• Location: Addis Ababa

Position 4: Legal Support Clerk

• Education: Diploma in any field
• Experience: 2 years as liaison officer
• Skills: Communication, time management, discipline
• Salary: As per company scale
• Location: Addis Ababa

Position 5: Senior Driver

• Education: 12th Grade complete; 3rd Grade driving license; Auto Mechanics certificate/diploma advantageous
• Experience: 6 years relevant experience
• Skills: Communication, time management, discipline
• Salary: As per company scale
• Location: Addis Ababa (Applicants must reside in Megenagna–Ayat area)

Position 6: Male Messenger

• Education: 10th Grade complete
• Experience: 0–1 year
