Position: General Storekeeper
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a diploma or certificate in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field is an advantage.
- Previous experience as a storekeeper, warehouse assistant, or inventory clerk is preferred.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management systems.
- Good numerical, organizational, and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with different departments.
- Ability to lift and move materials safely when required.
The General Storekeeper is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining inventory of materials, supplies, and equipment. The role ensures accurate inventory records, proper storage practices, and timely distribution of items to support daily business operations while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe store environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods against purchase orders and delivery documents.
- Record all receipts, issues, transfers, and returns accurately in the inventory system.
- Store materials safely and systematically to prevent damage, loss, or deterioration.
- Issue materials and supplies to authorized personnel according to company procedures.
- Conduct routine stock counts and assist with periodic physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and report inventory discrepancies, damaged goods, or shortages.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and supporting documentation.
- Ensure the store is clean, organized, secure, and compliant with health and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, and other departments to ensure efficient stock movement.
- Follow company policies and procedures regarding inventory control and asset management.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
