The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) is dedicated to promoting inclusion, gender equality, and diversity within its workforce. In accordance with the United Nations Disability Inclusion Strategy and the System-wide Strategy on Gender Parity, ECA is implementing focused outreach initiatives to engage candidates from underrepresented communities, including individuals with disabilities.
This internship presents a distinctive opportunity to assist in advancing ECA’s agenda for diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially concerning the enhancement of outreach strategies and the support of inclusive recruitment practices.
Position 1: Diversity and Outreach Intern
Qualifications:
- Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
Location: Addis Ababa
Position 2: Intern-Meeting Services Assistants
Qualifications:
- Applicants to the programme must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements: (a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a first degree or graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) is required (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent). An academic background in adult education, human resources management, or management studies is desirable.
Location: Addis Ababa
Position 3: Communications Intern
- Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). In addition, education background in communication, graphic designing and content creation is desirable.
