National Bank of Ethiopia Vacancy

National Bank of Ethiopia was established in 1963 by proclamation 206 of 1963 and began operation in January 1964. Prior to this proclamation, the Bank used to carry out dual activities, i.e. commercial banking and central banking. The proclamation raised the Bank’s capital to Ethiopian dollars 10.0 million and granted broad administrative autonomy and juridical personality.

The financial sector is growing at a faster rate which demands efficient and effective management and oversees. In order to respond to this development, the National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE) is planning to construct branches in selected cities of the country. Thus, the Bank is looking for competent Construction Projects Coordinator at each branch construction site.

Position: Administrative Assistant I

Education:

  • Diploma in Secretarial Science, Office Administration, Customer Service Management, or a related fields.
  • No prior work experience and Coc Level IV.
  • Age shall not exceed 40 years

Responsibilities:

  • Greets, receives, and directs all visitors, including employees, clients, and external stakeholders, in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Types, formats, and edits reports, correspondence, presentations, and other routine and periodic documents.
  • Manages, organizes, and maintains physical and electronic files, records, and confidential documents of the team in accordance with record-keeping standards.
  • Facilitates office logistics and administrative support services, including stationery, office supplies, and basic equipment follow-up for the team.
  • Organizes and coordinates directorate and team meetings, prepares agendas, takes minutes, and prepares and circulates meeting reports and action points.
  • Receives, records, screens, and distributes incoming and outgoing correspondence in accordance with established procedures.
  • Drafts routine letters, memos, and internal communications and ensures their timely distribution upon approval and instruction.
  • Follows up on outgoing correspondence to ensure timely dispatch and proper delivery to intended recipients.
  • Registers, tracks, and files all outgoing and incoming letters and correspondence, maintaining accurate logs and proper filing systems.
  • Produces, reproduces, and distributes correspondence, memos, letters, reports, study documents, and other official materials.
  • Provides administrative assistance and guidance to visitors and staff and directs them to the appropriate officers or units.
  • Develops, updates, and maintains an efficient filing and document-tracking system to ensure easy retrieval and data integrity.
  • Supports basic data entry, record updating, and compilation of administrative information for reports and reference purposes.
  • Ensures confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive documents and information.
  • Performs other related administrative duties as assigned by the supervisor
