Position: Junior Accountant
Experience
- Exposure to trading, logistics, or inventory-based businesses is an advantage
- 0–2 years of experience
Required Skills Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
- Familiarity with Ethiopian tax system (VAT, WHT)
- Accounting software (Peachtree, ERP)
- Strong Excel skills (mandatory)
Business-Specific Skills
Understanding of:
Landed cost calculation (imports)
- Cost per ton & margin tracking (coal trading)
- Ability to work with quantitative data (tons, pricing, transport costs)
- High attention to detail in documentation and reconciliation
Soft Skills
- High integrity and reliability
- Strong organization and discipline
- Ability to handle both low-volume precision work and high-volume transactions
- Willingness to learn quickly
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Accuracy of financial records
- Timeliness of transaction recording and reconciliations
- Accuracy of:
- Import landed cost sheets
- Coal cost per ton calculations
- Inventory variance (coal and furniture)
- Receivables collection tracking
- Compliance with tax deadlines
- Documentation completeness (especially weighbridge + customs)
