Little is a pan-African application that encompasses a wide range of services and is recognized as one of the largest ride-hailing companies in Africa, operating in cities throughout Kenya, Uganda, Somalia, Zambia, Tanzania, and now Ethiopia.
The Little app provides solutions for mobility, delivery, and payments by linking customers with drivers, thereby facilitating convenience and transparency for hundreds of thousands of users.
Backed by Safaricom, this ride-hailing app — which seeks to compete with Uber — initially revealed its intentions to enter the Ethiopian market in June 2021. At that time, the then-Chief Executive Kamal Budhabhatti informed Business Daily that the company would allocate Sh540m (£3.5m) over the next five years, with an additional Sh540m expected based on growth forecasts.
