The Lalo Bake Business Unit is actively recruiting a meticulous and analytically-minded Junior Cost Control Officer to provide support to our hospitality division.
This entry-level position (requiring zero years of professional experience) has been specifically designed for an ambitious recent graduate who demonstrates a strong commitment to professional development. The selected candidate will operate under the supervision of the hospitality finance department, contributing to the deployment of cost-control mechanisms that promote financial optimization throughout food and beverage operations, housekeeping services, and utility management.
Position: Junior Cost Control Officer
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Experience: 0 years of experience / Fresh Graduate. Prior internship experience in a hotel or restaurant setting is a plus but not required.
- Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of accounting principles and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) or ERP systems is an advantage.
- Core Competencies: Strong analytical mind, high attention to detail, good mathematical skills, and a strong willingness to learn.
- Languages: Native fluency in Amharic and professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Monitoring: Assist in tracking day-to-day expenses for both front and back-of-house operations, including Food & Beverage (F&B) and utilities.
- Inventory Verification: Participate in regular physical stock counts, inventory audits, and variance analyses for hotel supplies and kitchen provisions.
- Data Entry & Reporting: Compile and input financial data into cost-control spreadsheets and internal management systems.
- Wastage Control: Help monitor portion control, kitchen waste, and spoilage reports to maximize cost efficiency without compromising quality.
Invoice Checking: Verify supplier invoices against purchase orders and receiving logs to ensure pricing accuracy
