Kelem International School (KIS), previously known as the Swedish Community School, is currently seeking qualified candidates for the following position.
Located in Addis Ababa, the Swedish Community School is distinguished by its Swedish educational profile. Established in 1946, the school boasts over 70 years of experience in providing Swedish education in the English language within an international context.
Currently, the school caters to Preschool, Primary, and Lower Secondary levels, accommodating approximately 150 students aged between 3 and 14 years. The Swedish Community School delivers education in English, adhering to the Swedish Curriculum, LGR 11, for compulsory education.
Position: Kitchen Assistant
Qualifications & Skills:
- Level III Kitchen Assistant certificate with COC fully certified
- 1 year work experience
- English Language proficiency both in written and Verbal
- Excellent Communication skills
- Excellent Interpersonal skills
- Police Certificate
- Medical Certificate
The Kitchen Assistant will be responsible for taking an ongoing inventory of ingredients to ensure nothing is running low, cutting up vegetables, preparing side dishes and getting salads ready for special events and regular dining hours.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Assist in setting up for groups, including setting tables and ensuring that table accessories are in place
- Maintain the kitchen by cleaning prep areas before and after use and making sure that all knives and critical equipment are clean
- Monitor side dish ingredients and report inventory levels to the head Chef or Assistant Chef at regular intervals throughout the day.
- Work with wait staff to ensure that each order has the proper types and amounts of side dishes
- Prepare snacks and ensure that any special requests for occasions desserts are prepared
