Position 1: Senior Accountant

Job Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the organization’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy of financial records, compliance with accounting standards, and supporting strategic financial planning. The role requires a highly trustworthy, loyal, and ethical professional who can safeguard organizational resources and maintain confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and reports.
  • Supervise daily accounting activities, including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, tax regulations, and internal controls.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Monitor budgets and expenditures and provide variance analysis.
  • Coordinate external audits and respond to audit findings.
  • Support financial planning and decision-making processes.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate loyalty to the organization.
  • Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • High level of integrity, loyalty, and reliability.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is an advantage.

Reports To: Finance Manager / Chief Finance Officer

 

Position 2: Cashier

Job Summary

The Cashier is responsible for handling daily cash transactions, issuing receipts, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring proper custody of cash. Preference will be given to female candidates with basic accounting knowledge or experience to support financial operations efficiently and responsibly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive payments and issue official receipts to clients and customers.
  • Record daily cash transactions accurately.
  • Prepare daily cash collection summaries and reports.
  • Safeguard cash and maintain proper custody of financial documents.
  • Reconcile cash balances at the end of each working day.
  • Assist the accounting team with basic bookkeeping tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with financial procedures and internal controls.
  • Maintain professionalism and good customer service.

 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in cashiering or accounting.
  • Basic knowledge of bookkeeping and financial procedures.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of honesty, responsibility, and reliability.

Position 3: Internal Auditor

Job Summary

The Internal Auditor is responsible for independently reviewing and evaluating financial and operational activities of companies and units under Heal Africa. The role ensures compliance with policies, identifies risks, and strengthens internal controls to protect organizational assets and promote accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular internal audits of companies and departments under Heal Africa.
  • Review financial statements, records, and operational procedures.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of internal control systems.
  • Identify risks, irregularities, and inefficiencies.
  • Prepare audit reports and present findings to management and the Board.
  • Recommend corrective actions and monitor implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Maintain independence, confidentiality, and professional ethics.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in auditing or accounting.
  • Strong understanding of internal audit standards and risk management.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain objectivity.
  • Professional certification (CIA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
