The Ethiopian Women Lawyers Association (EWLA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for women, established by Ethiopian women lawyers. It was officially registered in 1995 and commenced operations in 1996. EWLA is based in Addis Ababa and operates six branches located in Bahir Dar, Assosa, Hawassa, Adama/Nazareth, Diredawa, and Gambella.

Position: Mentorship Opportunity

Who Should Apply (Eligibility):

  • Female law students enrolled in Ethiopian universities and affiliated academic institutions (final‑year/5th‑year students).
  • Young female law graduates seeking mentorship and capacity-building opportunities
  • Committed to attending monthly mentorship sessions (both in person and online) and actively participating in program activities.
  • Priority will be given to applicants with high GPA scores.

This program directly advances EWLA’s mission and Core Program which is Professional Empowerment & Legal Networking, by:

  • Structured mentorship and networking opportunities for fresh female graduates and final-year students, And
  • Facilitate high-impact mentorship and networking platforms that connect female graduates with senior professionals in the legal field to bridge the transition from education to professional influence.

What the Program Offers:

  • One-on-one mentorship with senior legal practitioners over six months (monthly face-to-face and virtual sessions).
  • Practical exposure
  • Capacity-building sessions to strengthen your skills.
  • Networking opportunities with mentors and fellow mentees to share experiences and knowledge.
  • Certificate of completion and a mentor endorsement letter upon successful participation.
