DEC is a local CSO established in 2007 and re-registered in May 2019 as per the new Authority for CSO Proclamation by the Ethiopian government bearing a registration number of 0009. The organization has five major programs; Child Well-being and Education Development Program, Gender and Life Skill Development, Employable Skills Development Program, Advocacy, and Humanitarian Emergency Program. DEC actively works in six National Regional States and one city administration of Ethiopia namely Amhara, Afar, Oromia, Tigray, Gambela, Benishangul Gumuz, and Addis Ababa City Administration.
Position 1: Shelter Officer
Required No. 3
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- Professional certification or licensure is a strong asse
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in infrastructure/construction, preferably in humanitarian or development settings.
Additional Skill
- Experience working with displaced populations, host communities, or low-resource environments is an asset
- Familiarity with local building regulations and the Gambella region is a plus.

Position 2: Shelter Assistant Coordinator
Qualification and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Disaster Risk Management, or a related field. A master’s degree is an advantage.
- At least 3-5 years of progressive professional experience in shelter and settlements programming, humanitarian response, or construction project management, with at least 2 years in a coordination or supervisory role.
Additional Skill
- Proven experience in implementing emergency and transitional shelter projects for refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), or other vulnerable populations.

Position 3: Cashier Accountant
Educational Background and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, economics or a related field. Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a cashier, accountant, or finance assistant role. Experience working in an NGO or donor-funded project is an advantage
Additional Skills
- Advanced Computer skills, particularly knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel as well as other financial software packages.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and Knowledge of government grant and contracting procedures
- Good in speaking and writing English and also speaks the local language fluently
- Advanced skill in IPSAS and Knowledge of Peachtree
- Experiences in volunteering, community service, and passion for development work are advantageous.
- Work experience in productive areas and knowledge of local culture is advantageous
- Excellent networking skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Position 4: Data Clerck
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Information Management, ICT, Office Administration, or related fields is an advantage.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in data entry, record keeping, or administrative roles. Experience in NGO or community-based programs is a plus.

- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications and experiences
- Valid driver’s license with experience in driving in rural and emergency settings.

- Experience working in shelter or infrastructure projects in humanitarian settings is desirable.

Position 7: Store Keeper
Additional Skills

Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma or certificate in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse management.
- Diploma in a related field is an advantage. At least 2 years of experience in warehouse or storekeeping work. Experience working in humanitarian or NGO settings is an added advantage
