Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly motivated HR Intern for our operations in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

This internship program is designed to provide a learning opportunity for newly graduated candidates by allowing them to do actual work and provide support to the organization.

Position 1: Finance and Admin Assistant

Experience and technical competencies:

  • Minimum 1–2 years of relevant finance or accounting experience.
  • Previous NGO or humanitarian organization experience is an advantage.
  • Experience in bookkeeping, cash management, and payment processing.
  • Experience using ERP systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Good analytical and numerical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multicultural environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy.

  • BA Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or other directly related field from University or higher education

Position 2: HR and Admin Assistant

Experience and technical competencies:

  • Minimum 1 year’s relevant work experience in similar field.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., DYN) and high proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Solid understanding of Ethiopian labor law and administrative procedures.
  • Experience with HR practices, staff coordination, and logistics is desirable.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to multitask under pressure.

Position 3: Supply Chain Assistant

Experience and technical competencies:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in humanitarian logistics management within the field of supply chain management, fleet management, asset management, and distribution support
  • Knowledge and experience of dealing with service providers and contractors’ management.
  • High integrity, pro-active, stable, robust character and a good team-player
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and negotiation skills
  • Experience in working in NGOs
  • Proven commitment to accountability practices.
  • Knowledge of computers: word processing, database management packages.

  • BA BM, Supplies Management or other relevant business fields.

  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

Position 4: Support Service Team Leader

Experience and technical competencies:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, including 1–2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong experience in Finance, HR, Administration, and Supply Chain management.
  • Experience in budget planning, donor reporting, and compliance.
  • Experience working with major humanitarian donors (UN Agencies, ECHO, USAID, FCDO, SDC, etc.).
  • Experience using ERP systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

EDUCATION: (include certificates, licenses, etc.)

  • Master’s degree (preferred) or bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Management, or another relevant field.

  • Excellent skills in speaking, reading and writing English.
