Chora Gas Chemical Products Factory (CGCPF) is among the first industrial manufacturers in Ethiopia. The company was founded in 1938 E.C. in Addis Ababa, originally named SEDE, by a group of four foreign nationals and one Ethiopian citizen, with a starting capital of merely 1,500 birrs.
In 1976 E.C., CGCPF transitioned to a government-owned entity under the National Chemical Corporation, where our responsibilities were primarily centered on production and inventory management, while procurement and sales were handled by a central authority. Following the dissolution of the corporation in 1985 E.C., we achieved complete operational independence under the Public Enterprise Service Authority (PESA).
