CJ integrates practical interventions with advocacy initiatives to enhance the overall criminal justice system, with a specific focus on improving the conditions of inmates in Ethiopia. The organization champions human rights and strives to safeguard and actualize these rights through a combination of practical measures and advocacy efforts that enhance the circumstances for inmates at both the national and prison levels.
Position 1: Legal Aid Service Provider Intern
Required Qualifications:
- LL.B Degree in Law (Must be a recent graduate or pending graduation confirmation).
- Strong knowledge of Ethiopian Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, and Human Rights laws.
- High level of empathy, patience, and resilience to work within a police station environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to be stationed specifically at Kality or Areda police stations
Salary: Negotiable
Duty Station: Addis Ababa (Specifically placed at selected police stations: Kality and Areda)
Position 2: Projects Intern
Required Qualifications:
- LL.B Degree in Law (Must be a recent graduate or pending graduation confirmation).
- Strong research, analytical, and legal writing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment at the Head Office.
