Coalition of Ethiopian Civil Society Organizations for Elections (CECOE) is a committed member of the East and Horn of Africa Election Observers Network (E-HORN), African Election Observers Network (AfEONet), and a member of the Global Network of Domestic Election Monitors (GNDEM), which connects regional networks and individual monitoring organizations across more than 88 countries worldwide.

The Regional Hub Intern assists the Regional Hub Coordinator with project execution, mobilization efforts, and routine hub management. Tailored for students and early-career professionals committed to community growth, youth involvement, and civic learning, this role offers practical experience. Key duties include assisting with e-learning programs, monitoring activity impact, and maintaining the hub as a vibrant youth-centered space.

Educational Requirements

  • Must be a recent university graduate OR a final/last-year university student.
  • Pursuing or holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, Civics & Ethical Studies, Sociology, Development Studies, Public Administration, Social Science or a closely related field.

  • No prior formal professional experience is required, making this ideal for entry-level candidates.
  • Active participation in university student unions, peace clubs, volunteering with local CSOs/NGOs, or community organizing is highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with the local youth dynamics and socio-political context of the assigned region.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Computer skills with the ability to navigate e-learning platforms, use Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel), and basic internet research.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage confidently with diverse youth groups.
  • Reliable and capable of handling multiple administrative and organizing tasks simultaneously.

Language Proficiency:

Fluency in the local language of the assigned region and Amharic is strictly required. A good command of English is strongly preferred.

Location: Amhara-Bahir Dar, Afar-Awash 7, Oromia-Adama, Benishangul Gumuz-Assosa, and South Ethiopia-Wolaita Sodo (1 per region)
